St. Edmund's Mission Statement

WE ARE A TRADITIONAL PARISH
FAITHFUL TO THE ANGLICAN/EPISCOPAL TRADITION
AND AS SUCH

WE AFFIRM THE HISTORIC FAITH AND PRACTICES OF THE CHURCH

  • Based firmly in the Holy Scripture
  • Based upon the Biblical standards of Christian morality
  • Consistent with the historic traditions of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church
  • Guided by reason inspired by the Holy Spirit

WE ARE A HOUSE OF WORSHIP IN DECENCY AND ORDER WHERE

  • The traditional authorized services of our Books of Common Prayer are the order of worship
  • Worshipers are prayerful, attentive, and thoughtful of others throughout our services

WE ARE EVANGELISTIC

  • Actively leading others to faith in Jesus Christ as the only Lord and Saviour
  • Fostering the growth of St. Edmund's, the Church, and our mission in the world

WE SHOW FORTH THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST FOR ALL HIS PEOPLE

  • As His servant meeting the needs of the world
  • As a Parish demonstrating love, understanding, kindness, and compassion for all

WE ARE A COMMUNITY OF FAITHFUL STEWARDS

  • With our worship and prayers
  • With our time and talent
  • With our money

WE SUPPORT OUR RECTOR AND HIS FAMILY

  • Appreciate, affirm, and nurture our Rector in his life, witness, and ministry
  • Support him and his family with our friendship, love, and prayers

WE BELIEVE that all these have been entrusted to us by Almighty God to be received and not to be changed to suit contemporary society.
